Supplier Spotlight: Argyll and Bute Registrars

There’s something truly special about saying “I do” at Carrick Castle Estate, with the mountains, the loch, and that unmistakable Scottish air of romance. It’s a timeless setting, and our team of registrars at Argyll and Bute Registration Service are here to make sure your ceremony feels just as unforgettable.

Nestled in beautiful Cowal, the gateway to the Highlands and Scotland’s first national park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, Carrick Castle is one of many breathtaking spots we serve from our Dunoon Registration Office, including Toward, Kirn, Strone, Lochgoilhead and beyond.

Why Choose a Registrar from Argyll and Bute?

Weddings come with plenty of details to manage, but we make sure the legal side isn’t one of them. Our friendly, experienced team will guide you through every step, helping create a ceremony that’s personal, meaningful and unique to you.

And here’s a bonus: unlike religious or non-belief ceremonies, there’s no need to collect or return your marriage schedule. We handle that for you, which means one less thing on your to-do list.

Paperwork Made Simple

Once you’ve booked your date at Carrick Castle Estate, contact the Dunoon Registration Office to check availability and get your paperwork started.

Both partners complete Marriage Notice Forms (M10), available on our website or by request, and return them to us by recorded delivery or in person by appointment.

You’ll also need:

• Original birth certificates

• Passport copies

• Proof of EUSS status (if applicable)

• Proof of residency (licence, utility bill, or bank statement)

• Any previous divorce or death certificates

• Names and addresses of two witnesses aged 16 or over

• The appropriate fee

We recommend sending everything 6 to 8 weeks before your ceremony to allow plenty of time for processing.

Religious or Belief Ceremonies

If you’re being married by a minister or celebrant, your paperwork still comes through our Dunoon office. You’ll collect your marriage schedule in the week before your wedding, sign it during your ceremony, and return it to us within three days so we can issue your marriage certificate.

A Ceremony as Unique as Your Love Story

Carrick Castle Estate offers one of Scotland’s most spectacular backdrops, and our registrars take great pride in creating ceremonies that match the beauty of the setting. Whether you’re saying your vows overlooking Loch Goil or inside the estate itself, we’ll help make your day warm, personal and truly memorable.
