Imminent Opening

The Team at Carrick Castle Estate are pleased to announce the opening of the Lodge is near, with preview rates already being advertised for Autumn 2017 and the Grand Opening scheduled for December. The year seems to have flown by on the estate, as I am sure it has for many of us, but the progress of the lodge has a lot to show for itself with the interiors being very close to completion and marketing well underway. We are delighted to have our first three weddings booked for 2018 and 2019 and viewings are ongoing. Between October and mid-December we are offering some fantastic opening specials, so if you know of anyone who deserves a very special spa weekend away, just give us a shout.

The website is still being constructed, but the logo has been finalised which can be found on our Facebook page, and our Instagram has been activated and is updated regularly: https://www.instagram.com/carrickcastle/.

Following a mock wedding photoshoot in July we now have some fantastic professional photos to show case the lodge and barn – our local wedding suppliers in Dunoon and the surrounding areas have been very supportive, what a great team we have on our doorstep, thank you to everyone who got involved. The photos can be found on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CarrickCastleEstate/

Hannah has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of furnishing and decorating the lodge – anyone who has seen the before and after will agree the lodge can now proudly call itself a home. Anyone who has seen the before but not yet after, please do come up and take a look around. And as for those of you who did not see the lodge interiors at the building completion stage, you will be blissfully unaware of how much work had to take place! Come up for a cup of tea and mooch around any way.

The latest addition of the team, Lochgoilhead villager Rasa Brazdziuviene, is excited to begin at the estate on 1st October as Lodge Assistant. Rasa will be assisting in all areas of the lodge from wedding planning to hosting, polishing antique furnishings to admin. We are really looking forward to Rasa’s arrival, with her extensive training and experience in hospitality we believe she will be an invaluable asset.

On the estate side, local residents may have noticed the beat up team busy on the hill as well as annual bracken weeding being carried out. We have also restarted the harvesting of Carrick Wood and hope to get this final area cleared by the end of the year. The landscaping of the 5 acres of gardens surrounding the lodge, however, has not been quite so successful and is a rather touchy subject with Darius. Due to the extremely wet ‘summer’ we have had, the lawn has not yet been laid. The requirement of four consecutive days without rain has been a taller order than first anticipated. We are confident that as soon as this does happen, the grass will have absolutely no problem taking to the extremely wet and favourable conditions. We are keeping fingers firmly crossed. Keep a look out in our social media for photo updates of the beautiful green lawn!
